Full Biography
A practitioner first.
Wes Lewis has spent nearly two decades in service — to agencies, to the communities those agencies serve, and to the belief that technology, when done right, should make government more accessible to everyone. He is the founder and principal of Hex5 Digital, a Maryland-based consultancy helping government agencies and contractors modernize digital systems with a focus on inclusivity, compliance, and lasting impact.
His career spans some of the most consequential digital programs in the federal government — including work at the IRS, CMS, FEMA, OSHA, VA, NIH, OPM, and the SEC. Along the way, he has supported client missions in engagements alongside firms including Booz Allen Hamilton, SRA International, and SAIC — experience that shaped how he thinks about delivery, accountability, and what it takes to perform in complex program environments. Whether coaching an agile team, auditing a platform for Section 508 compliance, or redesigning a public-facing service for users with disabilities, the through line is always the same: the people on the other end of these systems deserve better.
As a SAFe® Practice Consultant, Wes has coached government and commercial teams through agile transformation — focused on what actually moves programs forward, not framework compliance. He speaks at industry events including the HUE Design Summit, Cvent CONNECT, and PMI Carolina, and teaches digital design and technology management at Georgetown University, UMD Global Campus, UMD College Park, and St. Francis College.
Outside of work, Wes serves with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., the 100 Black Men of Prince George's County, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
He is married to Dr. Ariel Lewis and is based in Bowie, Maryland, where he serves clients across the DMV and the nation.
